These edible water bubbles may soon replace bottles

All to help save the planet...

Plastic bottles may have their days numbered thanks to these incredible edible water bubbles created by a London sustainable packaging company.

Ooho! Bubbles, are made by pouring drinking water into an edible membrane made from natural algae extract. Nothing is wasted, and they biodegrade in 4-6 weeks if not consumed.

The creative team behind the idea is called Skipping Rocks Lab, a handful of engineers who introduced the concept for the first time in 2013. Since then they have been working to make their dream come true, and thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign they managed to raise £600,000 in only a few days.

Give that 35,000,000,000 plastic bottles are used annually in the USA alone, and each of them takes hundreds of years to decompose, this seems like a great answer to the problem.
